A Collagen-Stimulating Dermal Filler

Although Radiesse is a dermal filler, it stands apart from others because it triggers your body to build new collagen, which not all dermal fillers do. This semi-permanent, highly effective volumizing treatment plumps the skin, firms loose facial skin, and decreases wrinkles.

Key Benefits of Radiesse

  • Provides youthful volume to the face and hands
  • Stimulates your body’s production of natural collagen
  • Lifts sagging facial skin such as the cheeks
  • Reduces the appearance of nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Better defines lax jowls
  • Volumizes the backs of the hands
  • Provides more lift and has staying power than most dermal fillers
  • Achieves a natural-looking outcome
  • Delivers instant results as well as gradual volume improvement
  • Provides Long-lasting results (up to two years)

How Does Radiesse Work?

When Radiesse is injected, it immediately begins creating an under-the-skin “scaffold” at the same time that it stimulates your body’s collagen-creating process. Radiesse is made of gel that houses calcium microspheres that are suspended within the gel. These microspheres metabolize within the body as the Radiesse is absorbed, leaving behind plumper, more youthful-looking skin.

What are Radiesse Treatments Like?

Before the injections begin, we will clean and prep your skin. Using a needle, the injections will be administered beneath the skin — a process that takes 10-15 minutes. The Radiesse will be mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic to help numb discomfort during the injections, before it is administered.

Recovery

It’s recommended to reduce the risk of unnecessary bruising by refraining from taking blood thinners before treatment and applying ice or cold compresses afterward. Keep the area elevated and minimize strenuous activities.

  • Daily activities can be resumed immediately after treatment (see above to minimize bruising)
  • Because Radiesse is a thick consistency, the needle is larger and may bruise the skin more
  • You may experience some redness, bruising, and swelling for approximately three days
  • Your skin may temporarily appear unbalanced, over-filled, or lumpy

Results that improve with time

Immediately after your Radiesse treatment, you will be able to see some initial results, with the added volume smoothing away lines and creases. You will see more final results within about one week. However, Radiesse is unique in that it continues to encourage collagen production, resulting in continuous improvement.

Radiesse achieves longer-lasting results than almost any other filler, providing results for up to two years. As your body metabolizes the filler over time, results can be maintained with repeated treatments.

Who is a Good Candidate for Radiesse?

Radiesse is excellent for most patients who want a long-lasting dermal filler with plenty of lift to enhance the cheekbones, temples, and jawline, as well as those seeking to correct deep nasolabial folds.

Radiesse is not recommended for those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, under the age of 18, or for individuals who have an allergy to the ingredients.

Yes. When expertly placed, Radiesse creates subtle structure and volume enhancement while maintaining a natural appearance.

Is Radiesse a good option for jawline contouring?

Radiesse is often used to enhance definition in the jawline and lower face because of its lifting capacity and firmer consistency.

How long does swelling last after Radiesse?

Most swelling and redness improve within several days, though mild bruising can occasionally last a little longer.

Does Radiesse feel firm under the skin?

Radiesse has a thicker consistency than many fillers, but when properly injected, it should still feel smooth and natural.

Will I still look like myself after Radiesse?

Yes. The goal is refreshed, lifted, natural-looking rejuvenation rather than an overfilled or exaggerated appearance.

Can I combine Radiesse with other injectables?

Yes. Radiesse is often combined with treatments like BOTOX or hyaluronic acid fillers as part of a customized rejuvenation plan.

No. While many patients use Radiesse to address age-related volume loss, younger patients may also benefit from its contouring and collagen-stimulating effects.
